Welcome to The Layout #84. The Substack about design that makes life a little easier with fun insights and key resources for you to level up. This week's poster is about perspective and placement.
Embrace Uncertainty
Life isn't linear. Well-made plans always meet unexpected bumps on the road. This shouldn't cause panic but inspire resilience and focus. What happens when you get hit in the face when you least expect it, fall down, and just give up or step back, reassess, and figure out how to win? Uncertainty is inevitable in our lives, but in the modern world, it seems that they were just a thicket of the old days and has passed away. We have created safeguards or creature comforts that exclude us from these conditions, which have its advantages, but we must never lose sight that uncertainty has a tendency for great achievements in our world. It is something that inspires ingenuity, innovation, resilience, focus, and is part of the human condition. It is time to embrace that the world is uncertain. We have two choices either fight through it or ignore at our own peril.
Perspective
A picture can be seen in a million different ways, with different stories and assumptions from different people. This can also apply to situations that happen to us, whether good or bad, and how we see these things can define our thought patterns or future decisions. This makes it essential always to think clearly and see the broader perspective before actions or decisions are made. Think of it as having a bird's eye view and seeing everything from above, all the elements below you with intricate pieces and moving parts, sound trippy right, but this can be done if you just breathe, focus, and lift. Shift!
