Forget the noise, hear the signals
Noise is a definite part of any process that we partake in. It is through noise that we decipher the signals that contain the answers or insights we seek. Noise is distinctly distracting by overwhelming us with needless information that blinds us to the signals we need to make progress. Deciphering the signals from the noise requires stepping back from the process or environment and looking at it from an outsider's perspective. In other words, if someone from a whole different domain unrelated to that project or process came on board your team what would the person do differently? Outsider thinking can give you insights that were previously unseen because your domain blinds you to the signals needed to accomplish your goals or projects. Pull or spread out
Note the surprises during the process.
Work/Life processes carry information that tells us what to do next at any stage of our projects. This information gives the necessary feedback which tells us whether we are on the right part. This information also comes with surprises that give us a unique perspective on how certain things are done and can lead to improvements later. Surprises that occur when we encounter new information while performing certain processes are necessary for innovations to occur. We learn by noting the surprises that occur and improving the processes to observe more surprises.
