Find Your Third Space
A third space is a physical space unrelated to home or work. It is a space meant to be a reprieve from our daily routines. These could be social clubs, sports centres, gyms, book clubs, and so much more. The space also enables us to act with other people with similar goals and perspectives while encountering new ones along the way. The third space is threatened due to our fast-paced culture and heavy workloads. This prevents us from making meaningful connections with unique people that we hardly encounter when during our daily routines. Cultivating a third space seems benign but it can be worthwhile in the end. Join a club, start one even, or go to the gym. Strike conversations with people, you don’t know what you may have in common.
Create as you consume
The creation of something new is very daunting in this age of consumption. The more information is being consumed by people, it dulls their creative blade which will dampen their curiosity and creativity. Creating requires a little bit of grit, boredom, and sparks of wonder. It also requires focus which as your consumption increases, gets weaker. Start with small acts of creation, it could be drawing or writing for 10 minutes per day, or coding to solve problems you encounter. Tittles.
