Reading Well
Reading is fun and exciting. It opens us to thoughts and imaginations that were beheld centuries ago and transports us to worlds that may seem unreal but with certain verbal flourishes that give them a sense of reality. Reading is a good habit to have even if it is just 20 mins a day or so. For reading to be truly effective, the goal should be reading well. This means you don’t just read a book to fulfill a checklist or to tell your social circle. You read to understand the principles or the main idea(s) regarding the book(s). You try to apply the principles and check with reality whether it is effective or not. The goal shouldn’t be trying to read a thousand books a year but to actually gain and improve a lot from the the few books that are read.
