Welcome to The Layout #5. I could say a lot of things about this week but I have to keep it moving and say what a glorious day to be alive. Wherever you are receiving this letter, try and appreciate the inner design elements that make our world i.e. architecture, humanity, etc. It gives you a different perspective
Improving Your Talent Stack.
Sometimes we tend to focus on one particular skill to the detriment of others. It could be illustrating, designing, writing etc. This is not a bad thing but what is beginning to get noticeable in our world is that having an array of multiple skills apart from your main one helps to stand you out.
It could be writing, speaking, singing, drawing etc. Call this your Talent Stack that you build and stack up with each unique ability and skill. Obviously, you can't be perfect with every skill but the goal is to be at least above average in each skill which gives you an edge. Obviously, as a bonus, This also expands your vision and creativity when applying your main skill too. So what are you adding to your talent stack today?
Whatever Happens, Don't Take The Black Pill.
I know for some people out there, things are not looking bright out there. I could list out some quick points such as the economy is failing, crime is going up, the market is getting too saturated etc. I can't deny that things are hard out there but that doesn't mean that we should take the black pill and just accept it.
When I look at the world and notice some events that try to bring down my spirits, I think back and reason what about the greats in the past. They didn't have great economies, and the market was probably saturated too but they found a way because they didn't despair but had the courage to push on. I am not saying to live in a fantasy world and not be aware of your underlying realities.
I am trying to say what can you do to control the things you have around you. You can control when you wake up, eat, practice, learn etc. You can't control the world but you can control how you react to it. In other words, We must maintain a good locus of control over what we can do instead of letting the world control it for us. Stay positive my friends.
