Welcome to The Layout #43. The substack about design that makes life a little easier with fun insights and key resources for you to level up. Welcome back everyone, It’s been a good week. Let’s get on with it
Learn to push and pull
To push is to exert force, and to pull is to retract force. Pushing means exerting the right forces in areas around you that require energy and focus. This is necessary to create the needed reactions for growth and development. Pulling means retracting your energy before it is fully spent on things that will leave you high and dry. This could be bad habits or poor thought processes. You could push too much sometimes and vice versa. Balancing these two actions seems trivial but is vital for any endeavor. It is also sometimes lopsided because some unique situations require lots of pushing or pulling. S for you to simmer on this morning.
Faking it has a limit
Faking or pretending your abilities will serve you well in the short run, but you can get caught out in the long run. I understand why people fake things to get where they want to be, but this creates delusions within. It is important through the faking process to at least have a plan to get to that level so you won't be caught out when everything blows over. The confidence that is also brought when there is an innate knowledge of what you are doing is vital for your future endeavors and pursuits. Preferably, I would rather we stop faking but it is what it is
