Sideway Lanes.
The world is a vast place, full of insights and complexities. We can learn a lot from this fact. Sometimes when we want to create projects there is a slight tendency, we look at things from purely a design perspective and sometimes lose sight of how those projects impact the broader world. We tend to ignore the interactions between the end user and the world at large. Also, we get stuck on certain design philosophies, ideas, or methods that we get stuck in a certain paradigm. The key is learning from other subjects matter in terms of how human nature works, how to adapt to it, and how to elevate it to something new and principled. This is what the artists, and designers that impact the world actually look for when creating their projects.
Imposition Is Good?
The customer or user is always right. Is this true? Well, it depends. The customer is always right in some areas but creators of certain products are right in some areas too. So how do we marry this together? Well, let's say a user wants a product shaped in a certain way but that product if shaped in that certain way even though it is very ergonomic looks very ugly and unappealing to a broader audience. What great designers, and creators do is take user’s or customers’ feedback and marry it with something grander like nature, life, etc. to create experiences, and products that redefine the consumer space. This brings something unique to our world but also it involves imposing values or traits that people say you are not listening to the customer. We do need to listen to users or customers feedback but we need to listen beyond what we hear or see.
