Welcome to The Layout #14 everyone. It’s been an eventful week. So let’s get on with it.
Be Present.
Sometimes it feels like life is on autopilot. You are just going through the motions without any sense of direction or purpose. Following trends without a second thought. We might set goals or read books but changes aren't forthcoming. It just feels like a blur. Life is a ride and being present is actually observing the ride, seeing the roadblocks, sights, and landmarks on the way. We could start by actually noting what today's date is. It seems trivial but knowing today's date every morning shows a sign of intent or presence. Presence also makes you catch the limiting beliefs or thought patterns that you experience each day. This gives you a perspective to actually input the right thoughts or habits to dislodge the old ones. This isn't easy but a good time to start is now.
Get the small wins.
Checked the interwebs lately. Seen people posting big wins that make your current situation dire and pathetic. All of us have a tendency to focus on big milestones or achievements which is not a bad thing in itself. The problem is we tend to forget the small wins that actually led to achieving those big wins. Being focused on getting the small wins no matter how minor they may seem is essential in getting the big wins that we all want to achieve. A small win could be when entering public transport and someone steps on your feet. You don't overreact but calmly analyze the situation. This decision or small win makes you avoid a situation that puts you in a bad mood throughout the whole day. Is this hard? Yes, it is but is it possible? Yes it is and that's all that matters
