Welcome to The Layout #12 everyone. New AI developments keep designers on edge but also bring possibilities to approach the art. I personally still think that AI can be a tool either for good or evil but in the end we shall see
Kill your babies
You need to kill the babies that you create. Not all of them though. I mean the creative babies that you created that just won't grow up. They don't align with your higher vision. Sometimes, we get stuck with our babies because we are afraid that letting them go will remove future inspiration that we may need. We also have a tendency to fall in love with our creations. When starting any endeavor as a beginner, you create certain concepts or heuristics to explain what you encounter. This allows you to easily create your first creations but as we progress, certain concepts change for the better, and the dynamics change in response to the world we live in. This is a journey and there will be costs and sacrifices. We should not despair. Chaos and order are a dichotomy entrenched in our being. We just have to see it through.
Embrace the boredom.
Try to endure the chaos of our minds. I know it's tough and I am especially guilty of this. When I get bored, I open up my phone and just keep pressing in the hope I find something interesting. You want to know how bad this is. Just check your App time on your phones(It's not good). Discipline equals freedom and also enables you to endure the things that make your mind chaotic. This makes us seek distractions, food, etc. to end that chaos and keep us calm. This chaos can either be endured or redirected to another hobby of ours e.g. writing, playing football, reading, etc. It is not easy but we can get it done.
