Pursue What Is Real
Our reality is being shaped by our virtual world daily. Mannerisms, thought patterns, vocabulary, etc. are being influenced by the virtual world which has advantages and disadvantages for our society. This also affects us individually because we can be overwhelmed by the virtual noise and encouragement around us. This could be likes, positive comments, etc. on things we post in our virtual spaces. There's nothing wrong about being encouraged or praised for great things that you do but you must still be cautious. Public opinion can change in a minute. Things that were applauded yesterday, can be today's punching bag. Don't base your self-worth and perception of the world on the amount of followers, likes, reposts, comments, etc. Always remember to pursue what's real: friends, family, community, etc. This keeps you grounded to wade through the storm. Physics and Motivation.
An inanimate object can only move when an outside force acts on it. This concept can be used for completing our tasks. A task is an “inanimate object”, and it is inanimate until an outside force we apply acts on it. The object starts moving under steady pressure, this causes resistance within us and it will tempt us to seek distractions(Video games, Social media, etc.) to end the pain of starting. The mental model to have during this situation is to keep pushing the object because it will eventually reach a slope and it slides down easily. This means that the work gets easier and even fun after a while. Deep breaths everyone.
